I don't have X1, but I'm almost sure of that you can only adjust the tempo by whole beats. Did you check the help file/manual? I'm sure it's covered there? There's no need to "figure it out", just read :o) I'm curious: Why the need for such detail? Do you need to match the tempo to something with 0,2 second accuracy or something?

I think this is new to Sonar, not sure, but in X1 when you copy and paste a clip every new clip gets its own tempo data. Before this (home studio 7) i could change the tempo and that was that, all midi objects obeyed. In sonar every clip gets its own tempo, and it just so happens that i prefer to sequence events in increments of whole beats and then copy/paste/bounce into a measure. so to give you an example i like to start projects at 110bpm, make a whole, then copy/paste 4 of them. I wanted to change the entire track tempo to 100bpm to accomodate one of my artists, but only the tempo of the first clip was changed. So theres not so much an actual project tempo, as there is a tempo for each individual clip. I saw another thread where you were trying to help someone with the same problem, i believe this is what they failed to mention? ive only been doin this a couple years so if you have any ideas please do tell. Anyways, once I bounce alot of these clips together, that will save me alot of difference clip tempos, but there will still be plenty of tempos to change by the end of the project. I was hoping to just change absolutely everything at once like i did in home studio but I'm starting to believe that thats no longer a feature. but anyways tats why i need to change the whole tempo, 110 is currently too fast for my friend and his lyrics :0

I think this is new to Sonar, not sure, but in X1 when you copy and paste a clip every new clip gets its own tempo data. No, the tempos are stored in a tempo map according to their position in the timeline, and are independent of clips. When you copy, there is an option to include tempo changes that are encompassed by your selection. Just uncheck it, and you won't get all those superfluous tempo map entries when you paste. I don't understand what you're saying about whole-beat tempos. Tempos have always been adjustable in hundredths of a BPM going back to Cakewalk for DOS.

You're never too old to learn :o) I've never noticed that. I've only seen the tempo window in which the digits are full numbers without decimals. I've never needed to look for higher accuracy, though. :o/

Set Measure/Beat at now is what you'll want to use. Takes time but worth the effort. This allows you to have the grid follow your midi by telling the grid where the beats/measures land. Then you can set all audio clips to follow project tempo and adjust everything together to a New desired tempo(s).

You might also be looking for the 'nested' "insert new tempo". Previously there was a little icon to click right into adjusting the overall tempo or most recent.

i'm not saying tempos are only adjustable by wholes, im saying that i personally sequence events in wholes 100% of the time. So because i have a new event each whole beat, theres a new tempo, cause each clip gets its own tempo. Anyways I was just looking for the easiest way to get rid of all the tempo data, which was to highlight all the ones i want gone and click the minus symbol in the tempo view.

Yes, I should have added that you can easily delete the superfluous tempos from the tempo view. But the important thing is that they don't have to be created in the first place. A .MID file includes tempo info, but once that file sn in SONAR, the tempo info is separated from the clip, and does not have to be included in a clip copy. If you drag-copy a clip or roll it out as a Groove-clip, tempo changes won't automatically be included, but if you use Copy and Paste, they will be included unless you uncheck the Tempo Changes option.
