how to choose Superior presets in X1 plugin?

When I insert SD from the plugin manager Sonar loads a ?default? kit.
I have kits saved as "projects" and "presets" but I can't see a way within Sonar to load any of them.

Kits are chosen from a dropdown menu in the middle of the top row of buttons. If you have just the stock Superior product, you'll have just one kit, the Avatar kit.

Within that kit there are some alternate instruments to choose from; click on the little arrow inside the graphic on the construction tab for the drum or cymbal. For example, you have a choice between seven different snares and three bass drums.

Once you have a kit constructed that you like, you can save it as a preset. You can also put it into a track or project template so it comes up that way by default every time you insert SD.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    thanks for the reply.
I'm familiar with constructing kits in superior.
What I don't understand is why when I insert SD from the plugin mgr in Sonar a default kit is loaded (a kit without my preferences as far as pad assignments, individual volumes etc)
I've saved kits within SD as "projects" and also "presets."
How do I get Sonar to load one of the preset kits I made and not the default kit?

AFAIK, SD does not have a "save as default" option. Might be worth making a feature request to Toontrack.

I have SD in a project template. Consequently, every new project comes up with SD customized and tweaked just the way I like it right down to the shortened release envelope on the floor toms, a little 10K boost on the snare, the ride bell down 2db, the toms all routed to an internal bus named "toms", and so on.

You can do the same thing by saving one of your SD tracks as a track template. Then, next time you want to insert SD, insert the track from the template instead.

ok are you saying save in sonar as a track template? how can I when sonar inserts the "default kit" which isn't the preset kit I want? maybe I'm not getting the obvious. do I need to insert sd and then re tweak it?? I have a few preset kits saved in sd. I just want to be able to insert one of them into sonar.
