how to do a skipping effect?

I do this manually, cut the clip at the point where you want to do it, then copy that note however many times you want it to be said. So for example the word 'Get', copy the word in its entirety once, then cut the first clip down to just the beginning of the word, so in this case 'g' or even 'ge'.
I hope this helps, I find by doing it this way you have complete control over it, as oppose to some plug-ins.

Yeah, you can 'cheat' and cut the sample up on the arrange page. Or you can man up and do it proper oldskool. Load the word, phrase or sylable you want to 'stutter' in to a sampler and p-p-p-play it on your k-k-k-keyboard

thanks for the help. I now have all the stuttering techniques i could possibly need!

The only real problem I've ever had with it is that I'm a bit of an old school Prog Rocker - and there ain't much call for stuttering Fx
