how to hear in headphones feedback what is being recorded into Sonar?

I have mike and headphones plugged in into VS100,
recording into Sonar X1 is fine but I cannot hear what 
I am singing to mike through headphones, any advice 
how to setup monitoring in Sonar?

Another question, can I apply some effects during signing voice affects 
in real time or only afterwards in Sonar effect processing?

    try the playback knob on the vs100. you can hear effects in real time by hitting the 'input echo' button on the track you are recording to.
