how to install x1b patch
you might think im crazy but ive done many google searches and also believe the patches link gives very little deatail on how the patch is run..this may sound easy to some more advanced users(and it is) but to the new users they may not even know you have to run this patch and just download it..you'd be surprised. please feel free to describe how you run the patch for x1.

Log in as an administrator for starters. Make sure X1A patch is already installed. Do not be running Sonar when installing the patch. A reboot is probably a good idea before and after the patch.

other than what billy said, just to give a little more detail: after downloading the patch, just open the folder where you downloaded it and double click on it. it's an executable. or if you're using IE 10 / win7 then just click on the option to run it in the little pop up window at the bottom of the browser window after it's finished downloading.

so in no way at all does the patch need to be directed to the x1 exe. file? i save my patch in my download folder where i save all my downloads.open it right there and its good to go?

You don't deal with the original X1 exe file while adding the update. You just download X1b, then in the folder where you sent it, i.e. "Downloads," click the file--it's an exe file. It knows what you have already on your computer. Takes a very short time for the installation. Your previous preferences are migrated into the new updated X1. RB

Hi Chuck, I copied it to my desktop (but you could run it from anywhere) then I right clicked on it and clicked 'run as administrator'. I do this with everything I install. I installed the 32 & 64 bit B patch with no problems at all. Good luck! Bub

please feel free to describe how you run the patch for x1 This may not be necessary but for every installation and patch I disconnect from the internet and disable my anti virus and usually shut down everything in my task bar.

OK so ...I am still on Vista. There have only ever been a couple of programs that I have had where they didn't run properly if I didn't "run as administrator" - and that was a long time ago. What issues do I face in not running as administrator? I've had every version of Sonar, and Pro Audio back to Home 6. Sorry for the dumb question :) but I have never done that for a CW product (including patches). Have I got admin rights by default or something like that?
