how to make the song return, mine keeps on going and going and going

If this seems familiar, its because I asked this same question yesterday but apparently my post doesn't exist, or at least I can't see it on my computer. Let's try again.
 
I asked if anyone knew how to get the song marker, the "R" on Reason 7, which I use with Sonar x3, to return when and where I asked it to. I have used this combination for many years until I recently upgraded. I used to simply drag the "R" marker to the point in the song where I wanted it. When the song reached that point, the "R", it returned to the beginning. I can't get the end or return markers to do anything unless I click the "Loop" button first. When I do, it works great and perfectly. However, after I save and close both programs, I have to re-do all the settings again because it ( setting the markers) was not saved for some reason. The song just continues to go on by the markers. I have tried typing in the numbers in an effort to make the song save with appropriate markers saved. No, doesn't work.
I have looked for automation which may be causing it to continue past the markers. There isn't any. Not only that, but I have not one project of over 100 that responds to setting the markers.
 
So, I am hoping that someone here knows what is going on with this. It seems simple enough and yet the problem remains.
Please reply if you have an idea about how to fix this. I will think that you are a really great person the rest of my life if you do.
