i5 750 or Phenom II X6 1055T, which one and why?

As the subject makes clear, I'm going to build a DAW around one of these processors, but I'm unsure as to which way to go.  The AMD seems to be "faster", but I've read some negative posts here about AMD generally.  I can build comparably priced systems around either one, so I'm hoping some of you can give me specific reason to with one over the other.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.
