i5 cpu has Intel Graphics video card built into processor - Anyone tried this?

Has anyone tried using only the video card that is included with the i5 cpu? (no motherboard graphics, no dedicated graphics)

Does it hurt DAW performance? What are the real world experiences?

    Doesn't hurt DAW performance...
But keep in mind that the i5-750 (now the 760) is the only quad-core i5.

I'm debating whether or not going quad-core is worth getting the older 45nm chip that generates more heat than the newer 32nm i5-650 dual core version.

quad core (real) is better than hyperthread virtual core. the issue is i5 750 or i7 860. more heat is a minimal issue unless ur o/c, assuming ur on a destop here.

FWIW, Heat is not an issue
With good cooling, the 750/760 runs cool... not hot
