iLok ???

Can you just leave it in all the time? It would be easier to plug it in in the back and not worry about accidently whacking it. With low vision, it's an issue.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Thanks for the reply. I'll feel better about it being out of the way.

If you have internal, inside the case, USB ports plug it into one of those. This way if the case gets knocked over or something the iLok won't snap off. Another solution is to get a short USB extension cable, plug the iLok into that and velcro to the side of the case etc.

Thanks for the suggestion Wormser. I'll have to check my manual about internal usb. I don't think so though. There is no chance of my case  falling over or even something happening in the back becasuse of where I have it.

ilok is the one kind of USB key, you can plug it into computer when you want to use Pro tools that hold all license for your plugins. you can as well take your plugins to any added computer and install them, plug your ilok key that you will be capable of using the same plugins on in another persons Pro Tools rig.

Same here - mine's permanently plugged into one of the rear USB ports on my rackmount PC. Never been a problem.
