iPad 4 recording

Anybody using the new iPad Retina Display to record live audio with an interface? I frequently need to record two track audio for a live symphony performance and it sure would be handy to just do it on my iPad. I really don't want to use one of those plug-in stereo mics (although I think they might only be available for iPad 1 and 2). I'm specifically wondering if anyone is using the new lightning connector via a usb out on an interface.

Do you just need to pull the audio from the desk or are you actually planning on recording straight to iPad?
