iPad and the Forums

Hi
I think i travel about 6 million parsecs a week.  I bought an iPad2 so I could make it through airport security without the hassle of dealing with a laptop (or the weight).  

The iPad is great for reading stuff on the forums, but for the life of me, I cannot get it to open the keyboard so I can type in the "typey box thing-a-ma-jigger" that pops up when you hit "Post New Thread" or "Post Response" or "Post Grape Nut Flakes" (which sounds like a very embarrassing infection).

Anyone here use an iPad and figure out how to type messages into the forums?

SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc.  Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad.  2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1.  More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent.  Zendrum!!!

    type it in a word app, copy and paste into forum reply

     I dont twitter, facebook, snapchat, instagram,linkedin,tumble,pinterest,flick, blah blah,lets have an old fashioned conversation!

    thank mr apple for not accepting the coding and scripting of most webpages

    Sorry but we have ****ed about it on the forum before, and there doesn't seem to be an easy solution
