iPhone DAW Transport Control App needed!

A lot of bands already use their iPads for their mixers, lyrics and charts.  You need an iPhone app!

I'm a drummer that needs to run tracks from cakewalk. I would love it if you guys had an iphone transport control for a DAW. Something that has: start, stop, back, forward, index marker, Etc.  Something very simple that displayed the song and index markers. Thank you!

Isn't there something like that available out there somewhere ...??? i mean you can control almost anything in Sonar via MIDI and key bindings ... and you can sync to external MIDI sources etc ... there should be plenty of apps providing something like that ...

I don't think Cakewalk should develop any iToys ... that's business for other companies ...

BTW, for the price of an iPad you can get a decent tablet PC that runs the entire Sonar environment ...

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want Cake to have android and iOS remote app. I would love to have a wifi or bluetooth connection to my daw and be able to press record/stop/rewind/UNDO from my phone. Perhaps someone has made a preset in TouchOSC or Lemur, but the current "universal" DAW controllers don't seem to be very well thought out for this particular task.

IMHO, there is nothing more annyoing than a cell phone in a recording session. even if you get people to turn them silent there is no way to ensure that it will not interefere with pickups, amps, etc.

there are iToys companies and there are companies doing professional software. i think cakewalk knows where it belongs ...

you can control almost anything in sonar via key bindings and MIDI mappings. be creative, take one of the available apps and configure it for your needs ...

One thing to consider - the phone probably connect over WLAN/WiFi - which often is a hurdle to crackles and pops in daw. Among the first things to disable when using computer as daw.

I guess that an external solution where nothing but midi is controlling is less likely to product unwanted audio issues.

I use V-Control Pro running on an iPad to control Sonar. The iPad is wi-fi'd to the router, but the DAW uses old-fashioned ethernet cable to the router and I have no network interface associated DPC issues at all.

V-Control uses the Mackie protocol with SOnar. A dedicated Cake app might be a bit better integrated, but if all you want is basic controls plus the convenience of a touchscreen mixer then V-Control and a few other apps can already do this.

    Sonar Platinum 64bit, Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, I7 3770K Ivybridge, 16GB Ram, Gigabyte Z77-D3H m/board,
ATI 7750 graphics+ 1GB RAM, 2xIntel 520 series 220GB SSDs, 1 TB Samsung F3 + 1 TB WD HDDs, Seasonic fanless 460W psu, RME Fireface UFX, Focusrite Octopre.
Assorted real synths, guitars, mandolins, diatonic accordions, percussion, fx and other stuff.
