iZotope Alloy 2 - Half Price - $99

Alloy 2 is half price for a while - $99.

I already have Ozone 4.

I also have Melda Production's Free Bundle, their Mix Bundle and MSpectral Dynamics as well as many other VSTs like Mix Control Pro, etc.

So my question is:

Is there anything in Alloy 2 that Ozone 4 can't or won't do - or any of the other ones I've mentioned above, for that matter?

This was posted in the Deals forum...

Alloy is geared towards being an "all in one Channel Strip"
where Ozone is more for Mastering.

I have both Alloy 2 and Ozone 6 and like them...

Oops - Thanks Larry.
I looked through the 4 pages here, but forgot about the Deals forum section.

Sooner or later I'll eventually get it right.

No prob..happens all the time...

What I've noticed is that there is a LOT less forum activity since the change.
Many are unaware of the 2 different sections, and many just don't like the new
arrangement, and have just stopped coming.  Either way, the forum has become
far less of populated.

I think it's cause we're all broke!

Personally I like the split... but we still have the Forte in common!

I gotta second Vastman's hypothesis. I, for one, am still scraping together money to get back into the good graces of the IRS. Dang, I wish medical bills were deductible - I wouldn't be paying income tax at all.

Another factor is that there just haven't been very many truly interesting products lately. Omnisphere 2 generated a lot of chatter, and I expect the impending release of Zebra 3 to do the same, but most of what we're seeing are me-too channel strips, equalizers, compressors and sample libraries that don't break any new ground. Things should perk up come fall.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I really don't think it has anything to do with who has money and who doesn't.

There used to be endless conversation, and the posted deals sparked those ongoing
conversations.  Those don't exist anymore.

NOW...there is the 'comment in passing" in BOTH forums..and that's about it.

It wasn't like that before the change, and, if you really look at it "objectively" you'll
find this to be the case.  This forum used to be flooded with visitors.
Now, at any given point, there are 1 or 2....so I don't think it has to do with "money"
YMMV

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/tax-tips/Tax-Deductions-and-Credits/Can-I-Claim-Medical-Expenses-on-My-Taxes-/INF14196.html

The IRS allows you to deduct qualified medical expenses that exceed 10% of your adjusted gross income for the year. Your adjusted gross income (AGI) is your taxable income minus any adjustments to income such as deductions, contributions to a traditional IRA and student loan interest.
For example, if you have a modified adjusted gross income of $45,000 and $5,475 of medical expenses, you would multiply $45,000 by 0.10 (10 percent) to find that only expenses exceeding $4,500 can be deducted. This leaves you with a medical expense deduction of $975 (5,475 - 4,500).
