iZotope Music Production Bundle 2 in Sonar - Can't we all just get along?
izotope put their bundle with Ozone 7 Advanced and a bunch of other plugs on sale for the price of Ozone 7 Advanced alone. I am tempted, but when I read the specs on the iZotope website several of the plugs did not acknowledge compatibility with Sonar. Like Neutron, VocalSynth, and Nectar. Also there is some language that Waves and Ozone can't play together, but I think that is only when you use the Ozone as a host. I know I can use the 10 day trial but I am always hesitant to load up new software for trial basis, due to stability issues on removed software and the Windows Registry. Anyone have stories to tell about Sonar and this Production Bundle? Thanks

I've been using the bundle with SONAR since its introduction without any problems. iZotope's reputation for quality is well-deserved. However, I have only used Ozone as a host experimentally, so there could be compatibility issues I wouldn't know about. And if there were, it would not surprise me if they were to crop up with Waves products, which are notoriously finicky. But I wouldn't worry about it. After all, what could you possibly want in a mastering chain that Ozone doesn't already cover? L2?

We've found Neutron vst2 has bugs but the vst3 version works fine. This has been reported to iZotope; I can't comment on other platforms but see no reason this should be Sonar specific...then again, wtf do I know? There were some similar issues with vocal synth. I have begun to exclude vst2 versions of all iZotope products (have the MPB and vocal synth) so I will always be sure I'm using VST3. I have had no problems beyond the above in using any of iZotope's tools; there are a zillion of us using the MPB or various iZotope products... so I wouldn't worry.

Another satisfied customer. I've been using Ozone 7 Advanced inside of Sonar Platinum with no problems. VocalSynth, and Nectar also work fine. My only small complaint is that unlike other mastering plugins, Ozone uses a lot of memory and needs to be temporarily turned off when tracking. It causes quite a bit of latency when I'm playing the keyboard, and I have a pretty powerful PC. Other than that, Ozone 7 is my go-to bundle for mastering.

Regardless of feedback, you should trial the software yourself. I set aside a project to play with this weekend to run the rims off Neutron, and bought the MPB2 only 2 days into it because I was more than satisfied with what I wanted to test. For my situation, I had Ozone 5 Advanced (so had Insight), as well as the Nectar 2 Production Suite previously. Nectar 2 has gotten extensive use from me for a couple years. The Pitch Editor I have had no use for, but found the Breath Control useful for voice overs. For vocal work, the N2PS has already paid for itself. The "Advanced" versions of Neutron and Ozone 7 included with the MPB2 was a key selling point for me because the potential CPU usage of the entire plugin. I wanted to have the ability to insert specific modules surgically rather than be forced to use the entire thing. Vocalsynth, Trash 2, and the RX Plug-in Pack will get limited usage from me (at least short term) because they are very focused in intended use. The MPB2, in essence, is similar to the previous offering (track use, vocal specific, and mastering), but with perks. The VST2 issue with the 64-bit Neutron is known, which can be resolved using the VST3 version in SONAR. I actually tested the 32-bit VST2 in Audition 4 and had no issues with it, but do not have 32-bit SONAR loaded to verify. Again, the trial to prove to yourself is paramount to your satisfaction. I had actually trialed Ozone 7 Advanced when it first hit the streets but passed on it. The only thing that bothers me with it is that the EQ matching seems to be only in the "entire" plugin rather than the EQ module. The Ozone 5 EQ module has it, and has gotten a lot more use lately than I initially thought it would, but it is not something that others may even know or care about. Since O5 and O7 cohabitate without issues, that point is moot for me.

I installed only the VST3 version of Neutron and still find that when I use the Track Assistant (which listens to the track for 4-10 seconds) the circle spins and spins forever. But if I select a preset first, then use the Track Assistant, it works. Minor nuisance and who knows - it could be something unique to my system. I upgraded my MPB1 to MPB2, so some of the included plugins, like VocalSynth, are new to me. KEv

I have just got Music Production Bundle 2 and have using Ozone 7 and Neutron ok. I have encountered a bug when I tried using Insight as it is asking to be authorised. Music Production Bundle 2 is authorised with iLok and Insight shows in the iLok License Manager. I have tried all the other plugins in the Music Production Bundle 2 and they don't ask for authorisation. I have sent a email to iZotope Support to sort out the bug. 13/10/2016

Im a huge izotope fan - and use alloy in every mix for many different things. Ozone 7 as well. As a host I have not had any reason to use outside plugs inside of 7... so cannot comment on that.. however it is an EXTREMELY useful mastering suite to check in between songs for the same project etc. Ozone 7, if used on a master buss, does add latency and you just turn it off when your tracking. Hope this helps! Dave

The bundle and each individual installer all crashed with error messages when I tried to install them. Izotope sent me a new installer, but only for the bundle - it still had multiple error messages but managed to install about 80% of the package. I have asked for functional installers but they haven't responded for a while. I'm on Windows 7, 64 bits - I can't think of a reason why my system would be unusual. Do other people not have any issues?

Today, I did a second install of Music Production Bundle 2 and Insight asked to be authorised as before. I then did a seperate install of just Insight and did not ask to be authorised. 14/10/2016

Thanks for the input! I think I'll give it a go. No need to master in the next 10 days but I want the discount, so I think I will just buy it and skip the demo.

neutron vst2 is hanging the cakewalk plugin manager's re-scans. I need the vst 2 for other software, though it also will not scan in Samplitude. At any rate, they have not sent me a functioning installer which will allow me to install only VST3. ozone 7 vst and rx plugin pack still will not install, iZotope has taken to sending me the same installation package a second time, 12 days after I first told them it was still incomplete I would say that my experience with izotope has been less than good. It's a shame, since the multiband transient shaper in Alloy and now in Neutron are among the tools I rely on. --- edit by installing on another computer and copying the VST3 folder to a USB drive I seem to have been able to work it out. I was hesitant to do so, since I don't know what else the installer might do. I specifically asked about it to izotope and they did not respond. I guess I'll find out if it keeps working.

pharohoknaughty izotope put their bundle with Ozone 7 Advanced and a bunch of other plugs on sale for the price of Ozone 7 Advanced alone.
This is as close to a no-brainer as I have seen. I had RX4 Advanced, so I qualified for that ADVANCED bundle for $200. That's Neutron advanced, an upgrade from my Ozone 6 basic to Ozone 7 advanced, the latest RX plug-ins (but not the RX stand-alone app), plus some other stuff I may use from time to time. That's a great deal. It did not start off well. Thanks to the other folks here, I found that my problems were all solved by disabling the VST2 versions in SONAR. It works beautifully. I love that Neutron track assistant and the masking stuff. And I just discovered in Ozone that I can now save directly in MP3, plus there is a full auditioning mode for the various dithering and compression levels. Importantly, Ozone can let you hear what artifacts you are losing with your MP3 compression. There is a lot more being lost, even at 320 kb/sec, than I expected. And now I am looking forward to the next version of Ozone that surely will have a Mastering Assistant, along the lines of LANDR.
