small problem;

in the browser, when looking at my synth rack, non of the synths have the propper icons... just generic midi pic.

is there an easy way to fix this annoying little issue?

    Right click the icon - there are various options. It would be nice if each synth had its own unique icon. But it looks like you can set this up manually. Hey cool, just tried it - once you set an icon as the default icon, it remembers in a new session. I like...

    Cheers, Peter.

    Thanks for the reply, Peter.

    I have gone through the right-click exeercise, but what i was hoping for was this:

    in sonar 8.5, when i inserted Dimension Pro into the synth rack, it automatically put the Dimension Pro logo in there too, along with the correct logos in the mixing console and track view panes.

    i guess i was hoping that i wouldn't have to manually right click and do it.

    where can i find the Dimension , Rapture, ZETA, etc icon bmp's?

    They are in your 'Cakewalk Content' folder (wherever that is on your PC), under:

    Cakewalk Content\SONAR X1 Producer\Track Icons\Soft Synths

    Also, if you right click on the icon in the Synth Rack, there is an option called 'Set Icon As Synth Default'. If you set the icon for a synth, and then click the 'Set Icon As Synth Default' option, SONAR will remember the icon for next time you add the same synth to a project.

    BTW, it seems that you have to right click on the right hand side of the synth icon for the correct popup menu to appear. Right clicking on the left side gives you different options.

    Yes, I see what you mean - 8.5.3 does it automatically. Might be worth reporting as a bug.
    In the meantime, benstat has found the icons, and I guess we only have to do it once for each synth.

    Cheers, Peter.

    very helpful, and works well.

    quite right that the synth icons are located in the 'soft synths' folder
