increase productivity with ultra wide monitor?

was thinking of purchasing an ultra wide monitor to work with my sonar x2.  do you think one ultra wide will give me as much productivity as a monitor setup?  anyone have any experience with this?

    Sure, bigger is generally better. Up to a point. Too big is when the screen impinges, even slightly, on the direct line-of-sight of your speakers. 


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    A 24 inch monitor and a 60 inch monitor, both running at 1900x1070, or whatev, are going to show the same controls, quantity wise, with perhaps better visibility on the larger screen.
     
    Two 24 inch monitors at 1900x1070, will show twice as many controls.My general rule is, if its big enough to see clearly, more monitors beat bigger monitors for productivity.

    I believe that the OP is referring to an ultrawide "panoramic view" 2560x1080 (ratio 21:9) monitor, like this one:

    I have had 20", 22", 24", 27" and 30" monitors and used 32"/42" TVs as monitors. My favorites were the 24" and the 27". Easier to read and did not have to move my eyes much to use them. I have had dual monitor set ups, but now on a laptop I prefer the laptop screen and 1 extra monitor.
