installing soundfont help?
So I have the soundfont player ready to install. What are my next steps. Can anyone walk me through this? I had directions before, but I can't seem to find them.

Go to my computer > c > program files create a new file called sound fonts load all the sound fonts and the player in the same file run the sound font player self installer, just double click on the icon, when it gives you an option of a file to install it in, pick the one you just created run the cakewalk vst adapter, and in the first screen, add the sound font file you just created, so that it will search there and recognize the player When you open c/w, in the insert > dxi drop down-arrow thing, sf2 should be listed. Insert it the same as you would insert edirol. (compliments of Albert)

Well I did put sfplayer and the fonts in the same file. When I go to insert it, sfplayer is under VST with all my other plug ins. I think it maybe shouldn't be there? Anyways I make sfplayer my output and it pops up. I hit load and the file opens up, but when I pick the font I want it either says can't load this file or for one file that did have the extention sf2 there was no sound. Do the files have to have that extension? i get the feeling I'm doing something wrong in the VST adapter phase? I lost the directions I got from you m-bear but so far she no working. Also you'll get a suprise from me next week:)

the soundfonts you load into sfz player must be OGG, SF2, sfz, WAV (wave soundfonts, not just clips). what are the names of the soundfonts you're loading and where did you get them from?

I tried Splendid_72M.sfArk from Sound Creations and another rhodes piano from SF2Downloads or maybe it was Hammersounds. The second had the same ext. as the first. I'm actually looking for the Grand that mamabear used and a Rhodes piano. I tried another with the ext.SF2 and it did load but wouldn't play. Could it be the soundfont player? or did I install something wrong?

did you unzip the splending file? the sfark is a zipped extension, you have to unpack it first.

For sfark, you need to de-compress (un-compress?) them. There is a free compress/uncompress program available, if you can't find it I will send it over to you this evening. I also have a couple good rhodes piano sfz's, I can send them out later. Also, some s/f are sent in .zip files. I use s/f's all the time, and they are great, once you get the compressed files open, and .zip, and .rar, but check a hammersounds and sound creatrions and sf2downloads, they should have the programs you need. Great! I look forward to the free de-compress/uncompress program. Also the Rhodes piano sfz's. I used to use winzip to unzip stuff, but I don't seem to have it anymore. Know any good free unzip software?

This unzip is related to sf files, although some s/f's are zipped, sfark is more proprietary. Later Albert
