is anyone using more than one external monitor off a laptop?

Hello again..
Just wondering if anyone runs more than one monitor off their laptop, and if so, how?
Im running platinum with one outboard monitor.
With the pro channels and the tracks and the track lanes, real estate gets eaten up pretty quickly.

I'm gonna guess that you guys have a way of conducting business within a given area, and using an efficient way of getting around the system logically. I suppose you have certain items gathered in certain areas so the workflow...does.

Just curious how you get around so much 'stuff'
I'm gonna also suppose one cold easily fill up 10 monitors with all that platinum has to offer...

Real estate management is really where the multidock comes into it's own. I do a lot of work on laptops with one additional screen and have different l layouts for different phases of production. For the most part though, the left screen contains the maximised arrange screen with the inspector docked left and browser docked right (accessed via keyboard shortcuts i and b), whilst the right screen contains the maximised multidock.  Most everything I open (PRV, synth control screens etc) goes into the dock so I can just clIck through on their when required). Screensets (and now lenses) are also a big part of my workflow, though more for live performance than whilst editing.

Keyboard shortcuts are also your friends!

Now even when I work on my 3 screen desktop I find I tend to default to my two screen layout. Sonar is very flexible and everyone will have their own way of working. Once you find your 'groove' it is extremely quick to get around and you can be very productive even on a single screen. I have a friend who runs 6 screens. It seems like he spends half of his time placing windows on screens and navigating between them! Looks awesome though:)

    Bruce.

The interface is liberal with available screen real estate. One reason I still keep Sonar 8.5.3 installed.

I recently got one of these high resolution laptops.
Set to 100% everything is tiny but I get more on-screen.
Haven't found time to move everything across yet.

I don't any longer but used to use a product called Matrox Dual Head to Go.

They make a variety of units including the Triple Head to go. Very easy to setup.

    Docking station.
I used on for quite a while with my mobile unit. it plugs in to your USB port and allows dual monitor support.
However before I had the docking station I used the VGA port in conjunction with the laptops monitor to have dual's.
Some add on's/splitters will allow you to split the signal and simply duplicate it, you want the kind that justifies it.
