There has been a way to save busses ever since we could save tracks.

just create a track or many tracks with as many busses as you want and save as a track template. If the tracks are routed to the busses, when you insert that track/s all the various connected busses will also be inserted.

The only exception is that if you already have a buss with the same name in your project as in the track template then the inserted tracks willl ust be dorected to the buss without actually adding an extra buss.

ie if you have a FX bus in your project with tracks 1,2,3,4 directed to it then if you insert a track template with 4 tracks and a buss called FX with the tracks pointing to it then your tracks will get inserted but not the buss.Make sense. Takes a bit of thinking because busses don't exist on their own; they are a destination for a track output.

Just to add to mudgel's advice. I've created a track template per the common busses I use so I can insert a buss (via the track template) at anytime in a project and then use the quick group to assign the tracks I want to send to it. Delete the empty track and you're finished.
