    Again?

This is the first flurry we've had here, I have a birthday in Feb. and from memory it always seems the coldest time of year to me. I wonder what the statistics are for UK snow fall I wouldn't mind betting that February is somewhere near the top.

I hate the cold, I wanna second home in Portugal I think to retire to between October and April.

Feb. is usually the coldest / most snow in my part of America (Ohio). January was unseasonably cold here - more snow and ice than normal, colder temps than normal. I'm hoping for a light Feb. to make up for it.

Ed snow / winter over that side of the lake in Canada. I spent time in Mississauga one year, in the winter. Here it's cold but compared to there it was like summer.hehe

The weather is changing all over the globe. It's going to get worse. I don't know if you beleive in the Mayan calender and the 2012 appocalypse prediction but we are as a galaxy headed into a turbulent area of space full of very different solar events and debris feilds. The pressures on earth and our solar system are increasing due to the changes in the solar wind and the density of debris and dark matter attached to the equinox of our galaxy. Beleive what you will, reality will overrule.

it is, last year or the year before ?!?! it was in errm April

    so very bizarre..

I was expecting it in August this year

just because it's winter .. doesn't have to be snow.... I apply that logic to our summer from last year.. a long season... yet the sun made a brief and fleeting appearence for all 2 days of it

CNN just reported about the very unusual amount of snow falling in London. Heathrow has so much to clear off that they don't know what to do with it anymore. They reported that you guys haven't seen this much snow in central London in ten years.

Ed.. for 18 years mate... apparently.. the roads are well .. your crazy to even go out on them.. .and the gritting lorries can only so much

some might say "ok it's only snow" BUT we rarely get this much snow. So say you lived in Sweden, Canada, States and are accustomed to so much , you get used to it. Here , I'm just outside London and it's a bit more spaced out / colder (-2c) so if it's a built up area less snow settles. Because we don't so much snow, ploughs and stuff aren't cost effective for the amount of use they'd not get.

All the airports are shut.. no buses on the road etc and there have been lots of accidents on the road.. I did go outside to put some food out for the birds and I saw at the front of the place idiots STILL driving like it's normal conditions.

Will this disrupt public transport as much as six inches of snow does here?

I was cringing at the news, not about the fact our friends in Scandinavia may be watching just that those a bit further north in Britain were.... I can't imagine Glasgow and Edinburgh being 'paralysed' to the extent London was today given the same amount of snowfall.

I really thought I was watching Monty Python at some points not the national news.

No this isn't the Alps this is Croydon...
