latency problems when set a track to record

I use sonar 6 and i have just got the tascam 1800 and no matter what i try to have a small delay when i arm tracks to record. i have tried to make adjustments in the audio option folder but i can not get rid of it.

here are my computer specs
hp with a i5 quad processor
3.1 ghz speed
8 gigs of ram
  
If anyone can help i would be very thankful

    The normal fixes Install the most up to date drivers, With Tascam your are best to have Windows 7 64 bit or there can be issues. Do you have input Echo on? Because the Tascam may have 10- 15 ms RTL you must monitor directly. Set the monitoring to a blend of Computer and input while tracking. You can test if your system is not composating for latency buy patching the output back to a input and re-recording a MIDI drum track, zoom in and see if the transients line up.     Are you monitoring from the Tascam headphone output or the computer?

    What I always have found strange is when there is a simple problem like this that it takes 3 days time for any given OP to work it out? That's a lot of banana's.
