level and volume control

I cant kill the signal coming into a track. Itried lowering all the meters in the sound card as well as trim and volume on the track. I also tried using windows volume control and there are only 3 options wave synth and cd player. It would be lame not to find out where this source is.

Thanks,Blerf

Trim and volume in the Sonar track won't have any impact on the level being recorded, but your adjustments on the soundcard should work. Are you sure you're adjusting the hardware inputs on the sound card, not the wave outputs?

Alternatively, assuming that your bringing the signal into the soundcard with some sort of desk or pre-amp, try adjusting the level at the desk. Cheers.
