lost measure numbers and markers

On my track view, I always can see measure markers and the occasional Markers that I have created. They usually appear at the top of my track view, under the control panel. I suddenly notice that they're gone. I've gone into various tabs, such as View, but can't seem to make them reappear. Any thoughts how I can retrieve them?
Thanks.

Perhaps I'm not  being clear enough, since I almost always get an abundance of replies to my questions. I an using X3, though I did just download the Bandlab version, which I'm not yet using. In fact, this problem occurred even prior to downloading this Bandlab ver.
I spend almost all my Sonar time in the Track view. Thus, the names of the tracks appear on the left, and the actual either MIDI or audio tracks on the right. On the top of the MIDI and audio tracks, but just under the Control bar, sits the little lines and numbers that comprise my measure meter---so I know where I am in a song. ALso there are any markers I have inserted, such as "Verse 2", etc. Just yesterday, on a somewhat more [packed with audio] song than I am usually working on, this whole measure meter disappeared. I'm assuming I must have hit a wrong key to make that happen. I just can't seem to find a command to make it reappear. I have even gone thru the various "scenes," if that's what it's called, but none of them has the measures.
Does anyone have an idea what to do? Is is possible that I made an insulting (joking) remark about pygmies in one of my other links, and someone found it politically incorrect? If so, I do apologize.
    Thanks.

OK, I think I might have solved it. I had noticed a rectangular box on my 2nd screen. I had figured it to be one of the effects "boxes," so didn't think much of it. However, when I looked at it more closely this AM, it said something like  "event editor." When I X'ed out of this, the measure meters and event markers reappeared on my project.
