I might be a little scarce too.  I have Ed's DAT and I'm going transfer those tapes of his.  I'll check in when I can.  

Just put that first little DIP switch on the Panasonic into the (DOWN) position if you are using the AES\EBU output on the DAT or put it in the up position if you use the IEC (RCA) output.
 
You might have to switch your interface to external sync if the card doesn't work it out itself, just select the Digital in on whatever app your are using to capture the output, press record there, then play on the DAT.
 
Job done.
 
Of course Bapu made it seem like a big deal, just because he's too lazy to listen to instructions, you'll be fine though Jan.

Using S/PDIF.  The switch needed to be up.  The input was good at my E-mu app but I couldn't get it to work with Sonar.    I may go back and try again tomorrow.  Finally got it to work with Wavelab.  Even that was a struggle.  Several tapes are done already.
