I tried hammering a dulcimer once.  It turns out, I mistakenly confused a dulcimer with a tuba player.  It's easy to get those two mixed up.

I'm sorry, but tuba players are just asking for it.  They park right in front of the percussion section with those great big open horns.  Think about it.  Would you put a huge metal horn with a nice, wide open bell right in front of extremely bored guys armed with sticks?  What could possibly go wrong?
