craigb Old55 Mesh Old55 craigb Unless the name has changed, I just remembered it was called the Chart House. I think the Chart House is still there. It's probably pretty near the Cannons on the cliff above the harbor. I didn't know there was one in OC Jan.... (When we lived in Burbank), I've taken my wife to dinner a few times at the one in Malibu and the food/sunset by the ocean setting was a very good experience there. We miss a lot of the great restaurants in S. Cal, but we do have new ones to yet visit here. At the momonet, I never know what me lady is craving (expecting our 4th), and one day it could be Morton's and the next it could be Burger King.... You didn't know there was a Chart House in OC? There are/were several. Besides DP, I think there's one in Newport Beach. There used to be one in Irvine, but I think that one is closed. I don't remember if there were any others. Yep. Since I lived in Irvine for a few years, I've been to the others at various times. The weirdest place I remember was in Malibu back in '87. It was a nightclub called the Screaming Clam. They had this huge, thick glass wall that the sea would crash into. They also only had one, uni-sex bathroom called the Screaming Head. The line to get into it (the bathroom) was horrible. I have lots of memories from that night including a couple that were good - lol. My friend was wasted and demanded I stop at Jack's for some food. Back then I had a sports car and, on the way back to my friend's place, I got to fly around Mulholland Drive. At least until my friend decided to get sick and puke down the passenger side of my car... Then things got worse. I merged onto the 101 and blew a rear tire which stuck us in the fast lane around 2am with a fine mist falling (I had to run across the freeway to use the call box). While waiting for the tow truck, my friend decided to "decorate" the freeway divider. I was so sure that a highway patrol would show up and hassle me, but the tow truck arrived and the guy apparently was able to ignore my friend's artwork and its stench. It was such a relief to get back in the car and leave until we had gone about 50 feet and NOW a CHP pulls me over wondering what we were doing. I pointed into the distance at the disappearing tow truck and he, fortunately, didn't question the vomit "racing stripes" on the sides of my car or my friend passed out in the passenger seat. *Sigh*
