I look at it as Schrödinger's FSF - if I didn't check in on it I wouldn't know if it was (mercifully) dead or not.

Once, I opened the box from the inside and looked out.  The universe was gone.  There was a note from Schrödinger taped to the lid of the box.  It just said, "Watch out for the cat."
