To be honest though, I really do enjoy coming in here to the CH and just "shoot the breeze" with the guys (& gals) as I miss the camaraderie I got from playing crcket/other sports with my mates regularly (which was basically my whole life).

There is a cricket league here, but I'm in the process of getting in "game shape" before I EVEN step into the practice nets as I'm a competitor and truly love the challenges (I want to be able to contribute and produce at the get go).
I gave all my equipment to a mate of mine in need (before moving here) and now, have to start all over again.....the gear is certainly NOT cheap.

I would have thought the league down there would be full of ex-pat brits

I was in a semi-pro Croquet league.  I got injured  and had to retire. 

I tried cricket once..but it kept jumping away from me...

Same with Hockey...but I kept getting clobbered by these sticks....

Even with Baseball...people kept knocking me out'n the ballpark.

I've only watched a couple of games (briefly) and the four teams thatplayed mostly had West Indians & East Indians....didn't see any Brits or Aussies (unless they were a darker shade of mocha ). I'm from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and yet to meet one of my Bro's over here.
I suppose I'll really get to know them once I feel I'm "fit" enough to join a club.
 
What about the club(s) you play/coach in? Is it diversified or mostly Americans?

a real mix but mainly European decent.
