So last night I finally got around to replacing sum button batteries in my studio. A harrowing project that I've been putting off because of the difficulty in opening things up with the device in place so that as few cables come unplugged as possible (since I have an unbelievable rats nest of cables behind stuff).
First was the DAW which wasn't really too bad. It also was less important, because the main problem was it just forcing me into the BIOS every time I booted.
But my MOTU MTP AV midi interface was the nightmare as it has a zillion midi cables
and it was in a rack so it was hard to get at without any of said cables coming unplugged. It had to be done though, as it would lose all the complicated routings every time it was turned off (luckily I had them backed up on the DAW, but part of the idea is to not to need the DAW turned on every time if I'm just playing the HW synths).
Everything seems to work (with less cussing involved than I had anticipated!), but who knows when I will discover sumthing inn't working.
