This fred is like a broken light bulb lighting up the darkness.
Dim lights for dimwits?
Speaking of which...
I was sitting here gazing at my navel preparing to go work on the bass beds of the last tune on the "album that never ends" that needs to be done and some thunder slowly started clapping in the background.
I googlied my way over to the Environment Canada site to see what was up. No alerts or nuthin'. Just a mention of possible showers and maybe a thunderstorm that'll pass through quickly.
So as I considered whether to shut down the DAW for what the kids these days might call a "nothingburger" *GONK*... the lights flicker, all my clocks start flashing *12:00, 12:00, 12:00, and so forth* aaaaaand of course once I rolled my way into my "studio" the fully booted DAW with an open project had taken a nose dive.
The "outage" was literally half a second. The floor fan I've had pointed at me did not even slow down. Just a flicker.
Anyhoo... the thunder/lightnening got REALLY close and was accompanied by a biblical downpour so I promptly turned off the PSU on the DAW, turned off the power strip and unplugged the PSU and my interface from the power strip.
I rolled back to my lappy to post this whinge and in between the time I started typing and clicking "Submit"... the storm had completely passed (aside from the occasional rumbles which are steadily moving away).
And that's my boring story for the day.
