We had that kind of weather here as well today. Flickering lights and all. I didn't have my studio pc turned on when it happened though..

Yeah, should be alright. I hadn't actually done anything yet today (I think I'm STILL recovering from heat stroke... or something screwy) and I'm pretty vigilant/militant about saving when I've actually done something worth keeping.
 
I just get concerned about the strain on the hardware. But the power strip is supposed to be a half decent surge protecting one (something like $10,000 equipment replacement warranty if it fails and something gets fried... but I never sent in the thingie but just knowing that they did that makes me more comfortable) and I bought a rather nice "CoolerMaster" PSU when I built the daw which I think would protect the more critical system components.
 
It's gotten zapped a few times this way in the past and survived (touch wood) but it still makes me nervous.
 
Now to boot up in safe mode and whatnot.

Hope everything is ok with the DAW front Beeps......I likes reading your colorful posts (very entertaining descriptions)......even if it's not so good gnus.
 
We're "officially' in hurricane season here and lightening storms are almost a daily thing.....every time it happens, I always run to power down/unplug my precious DAW. I'd be very sad if I lost it.....
