I still have the statistics on how long it took us (in 1981) to go from London to Venice (actually from our starting point in Frankfurt to our return there 31 days later after visiting 15 countries and having a seven-day cruise through the Grecian islands).  We spent a LOT of time on buses and trains that didn't look anything like that one!  LOL.
