I've been looking at replacement capsules, in case it is too noisy.
I have NO clue when it comes to this (either).
There are (among others)"47", "67" and "87" type capsules for this.. Is the capsule enough?
I know how to solder, but Am I good enough..

I have 5 or 6 mics I've built from these guys, including an MXL 990 "mod".

Replacing both is not exactly a mod, you salvage the shell and basket then throw away everything else... replacing with your choice of capsule and new pre-amp (which you have to build, so I hope you can solder well.)
