It would take a sick, warped, twisted individual to read this thread to see what it's about.

Can someone sum it up for me in a single sentence or less please?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

That's kind of personal, isn't it?

Just checking in, I only had time to read 178 pages this time. As a result I'm going to sell me house to buy more patch cords and switch to Windows 4.

Stick around.  We're going to hit 300 soon.  Good luck with the "upgrade" to Windows 4.

Not yet. Been working on packing but not getting it done fast enough 'cause I'm here by myself. I sit and stare at everything more than I pack because I'm overwhelmed.

We close on the new house in Missouri on Wed. Sept 12th. I have to move my wife from her apartment in Overland Park Kansas in to the new place by Thursday night because we have a moving trailer being delivered to our place in Iowa on Friday. We have to pack it by Sunday and get out because we close on it on Monday.

For 6 days between Sept 12th and Sept 17th @ 5PM I'll own a house in Missouri, one in Iowa, and be leasing an apartment in Kansas. It's scary, one thing goes wrong and I'm in deep trouble. Actually, we have the apartment till the end of October IIRC. Costs more to break the lease than to just pay the rent. She took over the lease on a small apartment from an ad she found on Craig's List. We met the people and met the managers at the apartment complex and it worked out. Kind of scary at first, being Craig's List and all that goes with that, but it worked out good for everyone. The couple was having a baby and needed a bigger place.

Hope you have a good time in Chicago. Wave to me when you fly over the middle part of Iowa. Unless it's a non-stop flight, you might actually land in Des Moines for a bit. It sure beats stopping in Peoria. ;) Did that once back when I would get on a plane.

On a side note:

I've been living in my basement because we had new carpet installed and I don't want to let the dogs on it or spill something. We donated all of our furniture to Goodwill and kept a couch, coffee table, and entertainment stand. I got the TV, DAW, Satellite, Surround Sound, all hooked up down here. The bass that these Yamaha's put out is incredible. It blew me away. I've never heard them sound so good. Surround with the sub is mind blowing. It's not boomy, but it's tight, defined, natural bass. I don't know if it's because it's wide open down here (1,680 square feet all wide open) or the concrete walls, but I am floored. I mastered a CD of 20 tracks of original material done in 8.5/X1 and I only had to tweak it once. I use my Sierra's sound system as a bass reference and I didn't roll off the bass quite enough. I hooked up my Yamaha's to the surround system. Oh my. All I can say is "oh my".

Another thing, I never knew bass was so directional. Again, it may be the concrete. I moved my couch 2 feet closer to TV, the sub is next to the TV on the concrete floor, and the bass disappeared. I thought it blew it's internal amp. I was checking wires, doing this and that, then I said, "Noooo, it can't be because I moved the couch closer can it?" Moved the couch back, and the bass was back. Incredible. Really goes to show what a room and how it's set up can do. It only effected the sub.

This reminds me of Jeff Evans' thread about his concrete monitor stands. I swear the bass down here is incredibly tight. Again, not sure if it's the size of the room or the concrete or both maybe, but something sure made a huge difference.
