Meng, please tell me that Sonar will continue to have a Staff View. And an Event List. And a Console View. And so on. The great strength of Sonar is that it has all these different ways of doing things. No other DAW has this.

Apart from the ones which do...

Anyway, it’s great someone has decided Sonar is worth investing in and continuing development. I’ve thought for many years that it’s the best Windows DAW there is. Though those who, unlike me, use the staff view might be made even happier if it gets the reworking and de-bugging it’s needed for a very long time. Same with ACT and the Matrix view.

And for those of us no longer using Windows, any chance of re-activating the Sonar for Mac project? >:-)

Well, Cubase's Event List is terrible. And you can't select more notes in their staff view than you can see on the screen. So, although superior to Sonar's in many ways, this renders their staff view unusable for my workflow.

But, I don't want to be argumentative at such a joyful time. At this point, I'll settle for a simple "staff view isn't going anywhere."

Very glad to hear of this.
Looking forward to the new adventures from the development team.
I was always very impressed with their work.

I have 4 other DAWS in my arsenal, but most of all of my work, was in Sonar.
Glad they are going to keep it going. It`s part of me, a part of me I did not want to give up.
Thank you for keeping Sonar alive.

Besides Meng, BandLab has some amazingly talented and competent engineers and staff. I'm honored to be part of his team and working on the next generation of music software, not just continuing the development of what Cakewalk was best known for, but taking it to the next level. With BandLab's deeply integrated social platform and vision there could be some truly exciting possibilities that I look forward to exploring in the near future.

I think you can all be confident that not only will SONAR live on but that it will evolve in ways we didn't imagine. Thank you Meng and BandLab for making Cakewalk walk again!

Welcome, Meng, and congratulations, Noel. This is so great to see. I could not have hoped for a better next step for Cakewalk/SONAR. So happy to see you will continue to lead the dev team, and that the IP is in the hands of 'one of us', a musician. Welcome again, Meng, and thanks taking this on.

Long live SONAR, its developers and its users!

Regards,
Dave
