When I got the news that Cakewalk was having it’s doors closed I was very saddened...I’ve been using it from the beginning. That was so long ago I don’t even remember what the recording software used to be called. Anyway, when I got the news I immediately unplugged my DAW from the network to prevent any possible issues with Windows and driver updates. My plan was to finish my current project and then move on to another DAW.

I’m very excited and hopeful that I’ll soon be able to plug my DAW back into the network and start planning new projects with “SONAR” again.

THANK YOU!😀

YYYEEESSSSSS !!! . . . oh yeah !
Somehow, deep down I knew that coding of this quality couldn't just slowly fade away.
I am so pleased to hear about the continuance of my FAV DAW, and equally excited to hear Noel and Ben are still involved.
Cakewalk was the only DAW I used since the early floppy 1990's . . . with the news of the demise, I purchased Cubase. There are a lot of things I like about Cubase.
So now, I will haunt the Cakewalk "Features and Ideas" forum to encourage and bring the best of Cubase into the Sonar / Bandlab rebirth . . . the DAW to rule all DAWS.

Thank you for the update, and I am delighted to hear you are taking on sonar cakewalk, as I am a long time user, and was gutted to hear that Gibson were shutting it down. Can’t wait to see how the future of Cakewalk/ Sonar goes and hope to be part of it..

Reading this news makes me extremely happy. Thank you for adopting this plan for SONAR! My only concern is whether all of the add-ons that come with or that can be purchased for SONAR will still function and be supported. SONAR has so many little parts that it's hard to imagine how they'll keep it all intact. If they do, I will salute their miracle makers for doing so. :)

Welcome, Meng!  As a 33 year user of Cakewalk products, this has taken quite a load off my mind.  Too bad it didn't happen three weeks ago.  In that time I managed to spend about $800 to find out that I can't use Reaper, Live or Studio One.  Knowing that SONAR (or whatever you end up naming it) will be around for a while.

A Miracle.....nothing less. I've used only SONAR since Version 7. Nothing else works for me. Many thanks to Bandlab and Meng for saving us. Please keep it going. Keep improving. Keep building it better and better. We need SONAR.

Thank you so much..............
