Thank you Meng for taking the time to speak with us.  It is gratifying to know that the products we love will be in good hands of people who understand the value of long time faithful users.  Adding some of the great personnel like Noel and Ben will indeed go a long way to sustaining one of the best daws on the market presently.  The fact that they continued to support us eventhough they knew the status of the product was in limbo says a great deal about their characters indeed.  I knew there would be people like yourselves out there somewhere who would be smart enough to realize the value of this great daw and its fine user base.  As a user since the '80s, I look forward to being a part of the next generation of Sonar (Cakewalk) products.  Thank you again.

Hi Meng

This is excellent news and I’m delighted to see that Noel and Ben will be involved in future development. Like many other users, I considered switching to alternative software but decided to stick with Sonar Platinum as I consider it to be the best DAW available.

Sonar has a knowledgeable and passionate userbase, many of whom frequent these forums in order to help less experienced users get the best from their music and I’m certain that this will continue under BandLab Technologies ownership.

Respect to all those who remained with Sonar, without such support who knows what would have happened.

This morning, I shall raise a glass (probably a mug of tea) to everyone involved.

HI:)

Welcome Meng:)
Very Great News:) Perhaps now I am finally able to change my type fault in my nickname??

Just a joke, but it was never possible to change it...

So, now that I'm firm to work with Studio One and Cubase, I decided last week to switch over to Studio One in the next weeks. I installed it in the Studio PC and wanted to configure it this weekend! (Both DAWs are on my Home PC for testing and learning)

But now these news do change it all!! The best of all, I can work on with AZSlow and BCR! (Hopefully) I was very unhappy without on the other DAWs and have problems with my right hand cause working too much with the mouse:(

What I learned on the other DAWs and I'm missing in Sonar:

1. Zero Latency Monitoring or Hardware Monitoring on both DAWs!
2. The Project View in S1, which is incredible with it's 12th Octave Analyser and K Metering, very great!
3. Staff and Midi Editing in Cubase!

I love the new PRV in Sonar, but the possibilities for Midi in Cubase are insane!

So just see this as my Wishes for the future;)
I would be very happy to work on in Sonar the next years and would be glad to help improve Sonar with perhaps some crazy ideas for it....

Thank you a lot for buying Cakewalk!

Bassman.

Most excellent. SONAR is simply the best. This is fact. Just like water is wet. Fire is hot. SONAR is the king of DAWs. I am so excited that resuscitation efforts have proved successful. Now my studio Battlefrost Productions will proudly build our entire workflow around SONAR once again, and we will be bold and proud to let everyone know about it.

Please Meng, have Sylvan be our Dan Worrall?

It would be even more impressive if you heard him say it with his mighty voice

Funny, yesterday I notice how this forum was just at a all time low for posts and participants. I've taken to posting questions in Software because that's been the only active sub  forum. There seems to be about 5 of us left here yesterday and I was seriously thinking of giving up on this forum myself . Look at all the people replying to this thread. Most I don't recognize as regulars.
So we hit bottom yesterday and here we go again, it's all uphill from here.

I can just see all those defectors returning now :)

This news has really awakened the masses, and in a good way
I have felt discouraged and sad when coming to the forum the past weeks.
But I just couldn't leave. Now I'm glad I stuck around, because it is coming back to life again it seems
And the FSF will live on
