I got the news about Cakewalk's demise on the same day my father passed away. I could not be sadder that day than I already was, and I did not care much. I haven't made much music since then, times have been difficult for several reasons and I just recently have taken my guitar out of its case again. I am very happy to get this news now that Spring is coming after a very dark Winter. Not that this is that important, a tool is a tool, after all, and there are others, but is good to see that something that has been part of my life for so long survives after all.

Thanks Meng and Noel. Cakewalk is all I've ever used so good to see it's not quite over. I don't mind changes so looking forward to seeing what you guys do with it. Sounds promising.

I must say that I have been transitioning to Cubase. That said I am very happy to know Sonar will live on. For me it is still the best DAW around. So though I will be using Cubase some Sonar will still remain my main DAW. I couldn't be happier hear this great news. I think Noel has a great deal to do with this and we owe him more than we will ever be able to repay him.

Thank you Meng. Nice to hear from you. This is the best DAW and I'm very happy your company picked it up. All the best for the future, and great news of adding Noel and Ben.

This is most exciting.

If the new owners will keep building on the Sonar paradigm, pick up where the old management left and improve the DAW's weak spots, I'm ready to buy the new software even tho I'm a lifetimer and I'll also sell my new iMac for a Win machine.

So looking forward to seeing where this goes!

I have Studio One and Cubase. But Cakewalk and Sonar is in a spesial place in my heart. I will always use this if I can. I know it is not rational. But that is what Sonar Does to us. It makes us go beyond.

Thank you BandLab Technologies for saving Cakewalk and Sonar.
I think this is the best thing that could happen to us right now.

Best news I’ve had in months. Been with Cakewalk for twenty years or more . Been in a daze really .... trying to learn a new DAW / s under sufferance ! ... BUT tonight ... I was inspired to fire up the ‘Ole Sonar’ and it ran perfectly. ..... just as I expected really . What a great GUI !!
Thanks so much for stepping in Meng .... and congrats and thanks to Noel :)

I’ve used Cakewalk since version 3, midi only. Meng’s appearance here reminds me of Greg personally joining the old Cakewalk email list and working through the disaster of Cakewalk 4, the first attempt at adding audio. I’ve used the story as an example of how management can save a company by communicating with customers. I wish the new management the best.

Beautiful words Meng! Thank you very much. It seems that Cakewalk has found a home where people understand the company's innovative vision. Joining a software company like Bandlab that really knows many types of users and can help Cakewalk get back on track for Cakewalk to finally have its product on Windows and Mac. I want to see Cakewalk showcasing all its talent and winning new audiences. I have not yet found a Daw compatible with all kinds of plugins like Sonar. From the oldest to the youngest! I have 3,000 plugins and the only Daw capable of running all of them until today was Sonar.

Meng again thank you! Noel really is a sensational person. I did not have the opportunity to meet him personally but he spends all his passion for music, by Cakewalk here in this forum.

I'm ready to spend my dollars with the Bandlab Family + Cakewalk
