I just came in since 2 weeks first time & am happy to read this anouncement.
But on the other hand I did not get any mail and have no idea how to crossgrade now... Still have to read all through ?
I am happy on one side for the product renewing, but confused as I does not know what to do.

A clear mail with all options to the current Cakewalk product license owners would be the right way I think.

I don't think there's been any mail. At least, I haven't received any messages from Cakewalk/BandLab. The news of the acquisition was just made Friday. There is nothing yet to crossgrade to

Really intrigued and curious where this will lead Sonar. There will probably be some cloud integration, sending stems back and forth between the cloud DAW and the Sonar Desktop App.

One wonders what this means for the Apple Experiment of last year...

It may be covered here somewhere but I'm just curious as to which of the soft synthesizers and plugins are actually Cakewalk intellectual property and which ones aren't owned by cake but were just included as some sort of a partnership?
Im guessing Z3ta and dimension Pro and Studio instruments? And the Sonitus series of plugins?
Thanks

Thank you telecharge this means I missed nothing yet.
The other things (supscription & reading FAQ) I did already, but honestly that opened more questions then answered.
I hope there will be a step-by-step howto for us current owners that cover all migration steps so that we will not loose or miss anything.

The above are all Cakewalk plugins.
Most of the plugins listed here are all owned by Cakewalk with the exception of those that are bundles licensed from other companies like Overloud, Nomad factory, Celemony etc. More info will be shared later on on specifics.

Delighted that Sonar has found a new home. As a new user, only started out in Aug2017, I was a little concerned. Feeling more assured now that my investment, the learning curve and efforts thus far have not been wasted. Excited to see what develops in the future.

Pleased to hear the news!

Although I have become rather fluent in S1 the past few months and loving it. Love the time stretching and how audio files (once you fill in the tempo field) stretch to the tempo automatically, with hardly any artifacts.

I do miss the ProChannel in Sonar though, especially the ProChannel EQ, that thing is just so smooth, haven't found another EQ that comes close to it yet, more so with the HP and LP filters. Will be watching with interest :-)

I do hope a mass emailing does occur eventually. As noted by others, most users might still be oblivious to the turmoil. With the current activation process, hopefully all the Latest Generation users of SONAR Platinum family products can be contacted, assuming their email addresses they registered with are still (or ever were) valid.

Short of some of Professor Xavier Cerebro type SONAR User detector, email is the best most likely way to reach us all. Once all the decisions and legal work have been done, that is.

I agree to 100%. The ProChannel EQ is the best one available today, because on the one hand it gives you a great overview to a channel's EQ setting and on the other hand it allows you quickly to see the details of the tracks frequencies for adjustment. And with ProChannel it is only one click to see the EQ of another track!
