I have been through so many adventures with this product and various owners over the years, I sincerely wish the new Owners all the best and hope this will be a better journey than the last, slightly bumpy ride.

Certainly as noted there are many Cakewalk users out there who are oblivious to what has happened. I'd say the majority of software users never join forums.
And please you folks who are still paranoid?? Why? And the folks making demands as lifetime purchasers?? I guess some people just don't "get it" no matter how many time this is explained.

One question I do have is what will become of Command Center? We can certainly live without it but it does make new installs go smoother than using manual. I guess it will live on sans any updates.

I also met with Meng at NAMM, and he definitely has a vision for Sonar and other applications.
This can only be great news for Cakewalk users and please give them some time to figure it all out.

Aha!  Don the Overture guy...  Thought I recognized that name!  Picked up your Cakewalk crossgrade deal for Overture 5.  Good stuff!

Does this mean improved notation may be back on the table for Sonar?

I do hope a mass emailing does occur eventually. As noted by others, most users might still be oblivious to the turmoil. With the current activation process, hopefully all the Latest Generation users of SONAR Platinum family products can be contacted, assuming their email addresses they registered with are still (or ever were) valid.

Short of some of Professor Xavier Cerebro type SONAR User detector, email is the best most likely way to reach us all. Once all the decisions and legal work have been done, that is.

I'm sure they're working on an email blast. I would expect them to push notifications to SONAR, as well, and perhaps make use of the Discover tab on the Start Screen.

I guess that is part of the puzzle of what all was included with the Cakewalk 'back-end' servers that BandLab bought.  Most likely out of Gibson's reach now, in any case.

My take is that the Command Center app is linked with and goes with the Cakewalk activation servers, and will be business as usual until something actually needs to change.

Don is pretty effing awesome. If his work can be integrated with SONAR, that would be incredible.

Yeah, Command Center is basically a download manager with DRM/authentication built-in. Similar to Waves Central, Native Access, Arturia Software Center, etc. I appreciate that Cakewalk kept Command Center optional, and didn't force it on us.

It wasn't smooth for everyone.  I thought it was terrible and only used the manual process, across 4 computers.  In my experience, I'd call Command Center worthless.

Yes please make that happen! :) The last piece of the puzzle for me, a good notation feature within Sonar!
