Looking forward to see what you do with the company. Best of luck and very generous of BandLab to offer free upgrade to the new named DAW to all Sonar owners. Way to go to.

Reading the recent "update" regarding a new installation program will we be able to open current cakewalk projects in the new DAW? and what about the ProChannel modules we have purchased, will they still be compatible?

Thanks for the update!  (Waiting with baited breath.) I don't know what that means but I've heard it all my life.

Hello Meng!
Hello Bandlab!
Hello Sonar resurrected!

I'd never heard of Bandlab, but you seem like the perfect match for Sonar - a vital and forward thinking company with vision.

When I saw Sonar's death notice, I ran as from a beloved but crazy ex-wife. Since then, moving on with my life, I've been using Reaper. I'm not at all disappointed with either the product or the community. It hasn't crashed once, despite my fumbling through the learning curve. It hasn't once lost my MIDI or audio connections. It satisfies my basic needs.

But, seeing as how my crazy ex is getting help, I'm looking forward to a possible rapprochement.

Towards that end, I'd like to echo what others have said - PLEASE! Fix the instabilities and shortcomings of the existing product BEFORE adding features!

Here's hoping for Happily Ever After!

Probably from fishermen?  I'm waiting with bated breath for more good news.

Oh, English you quirky melting pot you! Yes, "bated", IIRC is a deprecated form of the modern word abated, so as to say "I'm holding my breath". (Which, as a brass player, is probably something you prefer not to do.)

Great news! As long as I don't have to sink a chunk of money into a new BandLab/Cakewalk/Whatever It Will Be Called product, I will gladly switch back as long as it works as well as Sonar Platinum does and all of my current projects still work.

After Gibson announced it was killing off Cakewalk, I invested in Pro Tools and a lot of education to make sure I could use it to its fullest. I don't want to sound like I'm knocking PT, it's a great product, but Sonar Platinum is just so much nicer to use and does not have the glitches/crashes, or is as much of a resource hog as PT can be on the PC platform. The only thing I found that I use constantly where PT has an edge is in its Midi editing capabilities and how you are able to change some things in your tracks. Sonar has a much better midi event list editor though.

Heh!  Bated - as in abated, held - suspended. Bated breath is a held breath waiting for some suspenseful event to resolve. This is definitely a Bated Breath moment. :D

hmmm - Bated DAW....   Nah.
