Noel Borthwick [Cakewalk]

Edit: Still freezes, but doesn't seem to be crashing Cakewalk or throwing errors. Still searches a lot of unnecessary folders though...
The tool tries to err on the side of caution by checking a lot of folders for CWP files. I can narrow that list further for the next update. By freezes do you mean it permanently halts or just stalls? Which path is displayed when its frozen? Maybe its a permissions issue since I was able to scan a full system without any freezes.
I'll give it a try on a machine that has a lot more data and see..
It hangs up for several minutes some times, and freezes ("Not Responding") other times. Idk. The freezing is much, much less common than before.
It seems like it just really has a hard time with some file paths still. But honestly, I'm just glad it's not straight up crashing the program/computer altogether anymore and it's actually working. Basically just wanted to let you know it's working, but still might have an issue or two.
I don't recall which file path specifically it's hanging up on, but I do remember it was completely unrelated stuff in other program data folders, and also in C:\Windows and C:\Windows.old. It also does not always stall out on the same path, which is strange.
Edit: Just ran it again and this time it only hung up on C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS\servicing\Packages. Stalled out for about 5 minutes, acted like it was gonna crash, and then decided it was okay. (Side note, not sure why I have a Windows.old folder, as I bought this machine straight from the factory and did not do a reinstall of the OS or anything...)
Again, I want to clarify that it's much, MUCH better than it was before. And thank you very much...I always worry stuff like that goes unnoticed/unprioritized.
Is there a possibility in the future that we could just have the option of telling it where to look? I'm pretty sure most of us know what we're doing and where our files are. I know that personally I'm a stickler for file management. Maybe have a default setting, but changeable for advanced users or something?
