I’ll be 44 next month; very few regrets, many things I'm proud of, and some I'm ashamed of...
My first real concert was Aerosmith in Memphis back in the 70s. It was a religious experience; black curtains raising, revolving lights that spanned the stadium, and Steven Tyler screaming “I’m back, back in the saddle again.â€
I’ve been using Cakewalk products since the early 90s and I currently use Project5 + Sonar + GigaStudio. I’ve worked in the software industry since the late 80s, including a long stint at Microsoft – I’m done with all that and I’m focusing on music, multimedia, and whatever I can do to make a buck or two. I’ve never been happier.
For you youngsters out there, take some time to listen to 50s, 60s, and 70s music and don’t dismiss it as your parents or grandparents music. Listen to the old Delta blues, bring it forward and make it a part of what you are doing in rap, hip hop, rock, or whatever it is that you do. It’s the music that’s important – not the technology.
