"CW was into midi before" ... yes.   Alas, though, the guitarists took over, and it's been audio-for-the-guitar ever since.   About 20 years ago?
 


CW would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for those meddling guitarists.

Totally impossible.... Everytime that happens the FSF implodes upon itself thus generating a new morphing terminator robot version ;).

In response to the OP if you leave the smart tool enabled you can just hold the ctrl button when you right click and you will see the properties without changing the tool mode.

FWIW, I prefer the way the smart tool works as opposed to pre-audio CW versions PRV behavior.
