Thanks Cliff, I was going to post this when I seen the e-mail. I just picked up the UAD version last month with a $50 off discount. I wish I would have waited now. I got my first PA plug last month. Character it use to be a powercore only plug, got it for less than half price because it was on sale and they give powercore customers 50% off.
The thing I'm most impressed with is their method of authorizing the plug...when you launch it the first time just input you user name and pass word, that's it. no serial number. By far the easiest install ever.
They have 4 free plugs including SPL Free Ranger a great sounding passive EQ.

Yep I have the 4 free plugs and I have to agree...
This plug (the TD) has been suggested to me many times but I could not justify spending $200 on one plug. Waves Universe now is a authorized Plugin Alliance dealer and had it on sale for $150 but even for one plug that is a lot for me....So I knew it was going to go on sale and especially since we are not very far off from the christmas deals so I was just going to wait it out........
But when this deal came up I had to jump on it. and yes I love the authorization process they have as well....
Lastly, FYI and not to be rude but I go by Clifford and not Cliff......
Clifford
No problem Clifford, thanks for letting me know.

About the install ...i'm keeping a lot og PA buy because of that ......if you have no intrenet on the comp , is that easy ? have they released their usb stuff ? they supposed to implement some like waves ....
If I'm understanding this quote from their website, this shouldn't be a problem for you?
" Our system requires only ONE license file which you need to copy to your music computer and which will then activate ALL of your Alliance plugins at once. Even better, we have developed an online activation system, so if your music computer is online everything is done automated in the background. Enter your email address and password and you´re rocking within 3 seconds!
To me as a professional user working in different studios all the time this new system sounds like a dream come true. I hate having to install drivers and USB dongle hardware whenever I work in a new studio just to make sure I can use the tools I am used to, and all major studios I know have an internet connection these days to enable them to update their OS, DAW software or plugins, of course. Anyone who forgot their USB dongle at home only once knows what that means...
Dirk: I would think so. We have plans of releasing bundles with plugins by various vendors, for example a mastering bundle with several dedicated tools from more than just one of the companies, or a Hollywood bundle with tools for movie sound engineers, a Heavy Metal bundle with special tools, etc. You get the idea.
These bundles will be offered at special rates, of course.
And we will have special campaigns and offers for existing loyal customers.
There are many options to make the whole idea work for everybody involved, including the customers, of course. So far the initial feedback from our partner companies, media partners and beta testers has been very positive.
David: OK, thank you for all the background info and good luck with this exiting new project. Do send me some freebies when you go live! ;-)"
Also somewhere there I read they have an option for ilock as well. So far they really don't have much that I'll get, but they already have 1 3rd party UAD plug and one powercore plug....I like the way they're going. Hope that helps.
