In the "good 'ol" days, this type of thread would spawn tons of related "BAPU next time you('re) in [insert city here]" clone threads.  But now, Bapu prefers to work instead of post.  Sad.

I know... That stinks.
Heck, he doesn't even have one recent thread in the top 50 - only the old FSF.

It almost feels like the Rolling Stones broke up or something...

Hehe... Nice avatar there Rain!

I helped out a friend who repairs water leaks in cars yesterday and delivered a car to him from a dealership.   You would have loved it - A black Ford Mustang with black and red leather interior!  Couldn't help but think of your studio - lol.

That would have been PERFECT.

Though, much to my regret, I may have to refrain from adding red this time. People in Vegas seem to have a thing for stucco type of finish - which can be a pain to deal with if you're working with colors - there's no real straight line anywhere.

BUT I unexpectedly found the perfect inspiration looking at pics of funeral home. The current eggshell finish will work just fine for my idea, and the little red lamp will provide the mandatory touch of red.

I've also decided to keep the laptop on my desk - instead of pushing it aside and adding a dedicated keyboard. That way I can use the laptop screen for plug-ins and sample editing in Logic. Pretty cool.

As such.

You don't need to paint a wall, just check out some of the results from THIS SEARCH.

I always used to live in places with simple white walls and black leather furniture, and then add lots of color by what I put in the rooms and on the walls.  The nice part is that it's easy to change things up by swapping things.

Now, the trend seems to be to paint one wall some color (often antique red) while leaving the others as some type of white or off-white.

Ah, forgot to mention that I also had all sorts of lighting including different colors for easy mood adjustment.  Of course, I used to have a huge 18' x 28' bedroom at one place that doubled as a "test" underground club as well as a nearly self-contained apartment - heh.  How many others have a bedroom complete with fog machines, beamer lights, strobe lights, lasers, rope lights, black lights, etc.?  Boy those were fun days...

Man, judging by the description, the only thing missing was Iron Maiden singing a heavy metal lullaby. :P

I did that in my last place alone - I needed the place to breathe a bit after spending so much time in a that dungeon-house place and the way that new apartment was designed just didn't work w/ heavy colors... I managed to make it as red as I could w/o killing the light, only w/ accessories.

The whole place was smaller than your room - but I dug it, if not for the noise and the fact that I had no dedicated space for my set up.

Nice!  I had an "intimate" little dinner table like that too.  My girlfriend loved the fact we could have a private meal away from the other roommates that lived in the home.  Looks like you've stolen my room divider too - that's exactly the one that I had back then (the one I have now is all wood).

I loved those asiental screens.
For me, it's either make it look like a dungeon or make it look like a dojo.
