Hi. For some reason, my L1 Maximizer plugins have stopped working. Waves no long supports that product because it's so old, so I'm stuck trying to find a substitute. Any recommendations, preferably something that's already included in Sonar or that is a free or inexpensive plug-in. I've gotten so used to using L1 on the end of all my projects, and don't know what's comparable out there. I know there is a concrete limiter plugin for the prochannel on X1. Would that do? (Note: I currently have Producer 8.5, but might be upgrading.) Thanks. Mark

ToneBoosters has a good Limiter..and inexpensive...called Barricade.

There are several good, inexpensive, or free, limiters out there...

The Concrete Limiter from Cake is decent also...and it's a ProChannel Module.

Cheers!

Are you sure L1 is no longer supported or is because you have an older version of it? I'm pretty sure it's been updated to V9 w/ the rest of their plug-ins. But obviously, there'd be a fee to upgrade it to v9.

If you particularly like L1 and need a cheap alternative, you are in luck - there's a free "clone" right there.

I should have clarified: My version is v.4 and is no longer supported, and I didn't really want to upgrade if there were equally good free/low cost options available. Thanks. I'll check some of these out. Mark

Linear Phase
Continues to serve me well, in this unrelenting, never ending, economic disaster.

If I didn't have a license to this, I don't know what I would do!  Its a great limiter.  Has, "trust and honesty," as its copy protection scheme.

Its got some really neat features, like soft clipping, and low latency.  Is it, "PspXenon, or the Sonalksis Mastering Limiter?"  No..

However..  Event Horizon is very, very good.  Works!  It goes on my masters during production to protect my ears.  It goes on my masters during mastering.

I've had it since 2007...  talk about mileage!!

And it's 64bit too.

There are a host of excellent limiters available now. Apart from what has been mentioned; Sonnox, Fabfilter, Voxengo- and about 50 others too!

The T-Racks 3 Deluxe "Brickwall Limiter" (available as a single plugin) is an excellent Limiter.
I like it better than Waves L2
Price is very reasonable (especially if you catch a sale/promotion) and it's available as a 64Bit dll.
