Some may remember this build - for my sick friend. Well it was the best guitar I've ever played and I see that with no ego...there is no way to know while building- you do the best ya can and hope it works out.
I loved it so much that I wanted to see if I could do it again...

I wound another set of P-90's for it.
I kept all the wood natural. I wanted it to have a Gibson taste to go with the pups so I did a little thing at the end of the fretboard.

The chatoyance of this guitar is unreal. I'm not good enough with a camara to show it but they give an idea.

I didn't dye the Ebony black and glad about that. It too changes with the light.

The edge ( or this wood- a figured Mahogany) is like nothing I've ever seen.
I did hollow out the body but the maple top is thick so it's a pound or two heavier than a Strat. I sit to play so no worries.
Everything about this build gave me trouble. At one point I almost gave up. I carved three times on the neck and finally realized that the only trouble was me...trying for perfection or what I feel my guitar should be. Well I got lucky. I fought with every little aspect until I could pick it up and play without any tiny thing that I thought could be better. Different....but no better.
This is one I'll be playing from here on out.
Sure seems quiet here...weather?...vacations?...or working like me?...well, back at it!
Hope ya enjoy the pics.
