I've tried Chrome and IE and it still doesn't work. So even though I own most of the IK products I get no support. Nice.

Hi guys. If anyone ever has a problem with support please contact me, I'm here to help in whatever way I can and am capable of. Please PM me your ticket numbers, I keep hearing people saying its down and have tried the support ticket multiple times today in different browsers. Everything is working fine and support has been supporting all day with the system working.

I have almost all the SampleTank libraries.   It always crashes Sonar X1 64bit with BitBridge or jBridge.  It hasn't been updated in 8 years.  It will not be updated this year and they won't even say it will be updated next year.  We may never have a 64bit version.  And... I can't even get support!!!  After going through their web support page several times and making sure all fields are filled out it always ends with  "Ticket denied Error #403".   All that money down the toilet...

My experience has been quite the opposite. IK plug ins have never crashed for me not once in Sonar. They're support has been fast for me as well. Usually I get a reply within 3 days. I would argue that IK support is better than Cakewalk's! Sure Cake has a phone line that I wish IK had too but email support from IK has been nothing but great to me for all of their plug ins.

I've had pretty good luck with IK support..  they always answer my emails..  they've exchanged a hardware product for me..  I quite like amplitube, amplitube 3, my iphone products....

I agree that they are not making very many desktop products and not really updating them right now..  but perhaps they feel, "we are living in a mobile world, lets focus our efforts there."

They certainly have billions and billions of people who will use tablets to make music and such

I can see that point of view...but here's a better one..

How about taking care of those of us DAW users who GOT THEM THERE?

They wouldn't even have those products had it not been for those of us who purchased
there DAW products, and while there is a growing market for "mobile" apps...
you certainly shouldn't neglect the maintenance of your current products because
you are focusing on "mobile" products...

That's a VERY BAD business strategy...

They should have had 64 bit versions of the DAW applications LONG AGO...
They are basically saying to those of us who paved the way for them, who
BOUGHT their 32 bit apps...

Sorry, you're screwed, we don't care about you any more, we have bigger fish to fry...

THAT IS JUST POOR BUSINESS...PERIOD...and SHAME ON THEM.

I hope IK Obi reads this....

I love my IK products....but don't leave us out in the cold .....

Just my thoughts...

How is this strategy any worse than Cakewalk abandoning versions of Sonar for upgrades since you know its about that time for a new version even if the old one still has issues? At least IK is open about working on Sampletank 3. Regardless of how long it will take they are working on it and it being 32 bit is not hurting anything since its a really light plug in anyway. Their amplitube stuff is 64 bit T Racks is 64 bit and didn't they release 2 new T Racks modules earlier this year? They just released Slash for Amplitube 3 like 2 months ago. The only stuff that has not seen a lot of updates is Sampletank I don't think they have abandoned anything. They simply haven't updated it in a long time. So what? It works well they don't have to update it. People complain about such small things sometimes.

Xabiton,

It's about making things work "natively"  If you use a 32 bit program you have to use bitbridge or jbridge.
Biggest issue is memory usage.  32 bit programs are confined to X memory, where 64 bit programs are
free to use whatever memory you have available.

This is especially beneficial when running LARGE sample libraries.

And, it just so happens, that ALL the neglected programs are SAMPLETANK based.
SampleTank
SampleMoog
SonicSynth
Miraslov

All of these programs reside in the 32 bit realm still.  And they've been around for quite a while.
Yet we see all this Amplitube this, and that and Apple iPhone crap (pardon my saying that but, that's what it is)
They devoted a TON of resources to selling iPhone crap.  iRig, iMic, I this I that...granted this is a growing YOUTH
market, and should be developed, but let's keep this real please.  In all honesty and fairness..
Pretty soon our phones will be going to work for us and going to the bathroom for us...

The BIG BOYS IN THE STUDIO ain't usin' their iPhones to record their next big hit.

So, really - IT IS A BIG DEAL!!!

Those of us who have been using these programs (and supporting the company) for years have to
go by the wayside while their development team write iCrap apps...

Sorry ...rant over...

See?  Credit where it's due, you become a great asset and representative, when you are not spamming the forum.

It's good to see problems addressed rather than created and I'm sure even you can tell the difference here.

Good job, and far more attractive than a promotion.

Don't mean to tear down everything you've said, but it is all kind of wrong. We aren't neglecting our core pro audio guys at all. Ummm.... ARC 2 ? New  AmpliTube Slash models? Plus the new ******* *** ***** and *** ** and, well you get the idea. (I'd say more, but we've already learned this can't happen here on the cakewalk forums, I usually end up getting ripped into for posting here and being around to help out in situations like this one.)

We have big plans for this year and have been consistently working on all 3 platforms equally. Especially considering Development time, testing and such. Then take into account that we not only have more new products AND updates coming out than we have in the past...by a LOT. Then you can account for the iOS stuff. We haven't stopped developing the new SampleTank, its just one of IK's biggest projects. Big things take time.

No matter how much you complain and hate us - you would HATE us if we dropped the ball on the new SampleTank. There are things that will surprise you and there are things you've all been asking for. Things you didn't even think of and things you helped us decide on. We care about our pro audio and pro musicians more than you know because WE ARE real musicians. I can't even begin to tell you the talent IK has in its offices and they LOVE music. We put that same passion into what we develop, even if at times its frustration.

Waiting is worth it when you want it perfect, which we do.

ESPECIALLY the sound library....

Oh and you'd be surprised how many of the "BIG boys" tell us how much they LOVE  AmpliTube   iRig  or  SampleTank for iPad  and  iRig MIDI. Then I wouldn't even BEGIN to tell you how many are asking whats next and about  iRig PRE or iRig STOMP

Perspective is everything.
