As you well know, I'm one of your biggest supporters here...

And I understand that, as an IK employee, you feel obligated to
defend the company's position.

But that's just political jargon.  I feel like I'm listening to a campaign ad.

The "big boys" love it 'cuz they can take their phones and play where ever they 
may be....but they're not using it in the Studio.  That you can depend on.

So, I completely understand you're defense.  It's expected.

But you've had YEARS for upgrading these SampleTank programs...
I don't think "perfection" which, in the audio industry (or anywhere) is
not even probable, is the reason you're late.  It's a shift of focus.

Don't mean to tear down everything you've said, but it is all kind of wrong. We aren't neglecting our core pro audio guys at all. Ummm.... ARC 2 ? New  Amplitube Slash models? Plus the new ******* *** ***** and *** ** and, well you get the idea. (I'd say more, but we've already learned this can't happen here on the cakewalk forums, I usually end up getting ripped into for posting here and being around to help out in situations like this one.)

We have big plans for this year and have been consistently working on all 3 platforms equally. Especially considering Development time, testing and such. Then take into account that we not only have more new products AND updates coming out than we have in the past...by a LOT. Then you can account for the iOS stuff. We haven't stopped developing the new SampleTank, its just one of IK's biggest projects. Big things take time.

No matter how much you complain and hate us - you would HATE us if we dropped the ball on the new SampleTank. There are things that will surprise you and there are things you've all been asking for. Things you didn't even think of and things you helped us decide on. We care about our pro audio and pro musicians more than you know because WE ARE real musicians. I can't even begin to tell you the talent IK has in its offices and they LOVE music. We put that same passion into what we develop, even if at times its frustration.
    
Waiting is worth it when you want it perfect, which we do.

ESPECIALLY the sound library....


Oh and you'd be surprised how many of the "BIG boys" tell us how much they LOVE  Amkplitube iRig  or  Sampletank for iPad  and  iRig MIDI. Then I wouldn't even BEGIN to tell you how many are asking whats next and about  iRig PRE or iRig STOMP.

You nailed cclary's point perfectly! Perspective IS everything. I learned a long time ago (especially when dealing with corporate representatives) judge by actions, not words.
A person's perspective is their reality. And to many of us who give our money to a company appearing to be guilty of the things charged in cclary's post, mere promises ring hollow. 

You know what I think would be REALLY refreshing?

For a company Rep to NOT be political...but just say...

Ya know....you have a valid point...I'll mention that
at the next meeting...

Or some such thing...
Not get all defensive and break out the "Corporate Sword"
and talk about all the things they are GOING to do...rather then
what they SHOULD do, or SHOULD have done...
I would be completely IMPRESSED if a company rep just admitted....yeah...
we just can't do everything right now...sorry about that...

As WRONG as that answer is...AT LEAST IT'S HONEST...
and THAT I can respect...I may not like it...but I'll sure as shootin' respect

I'd venture that when IK MM's management notice (if they haven't already) that SampleTank sales have dropped off drastically, they will see the light (if they haven't already) and either update the PC version or drop it. 
I may jab at Obi for spamming here, and may criticize IK's hardware, but I do like the company and its software quite a lot. They could have charged for the update to their Amplitude app but chose not to (ok, except for MIDI) and I appreciated that, because the update made the app so much better.

And while some may dismiss the iPad as a toy and not fit for the studio, they might be rather surprised (as I have been) at what tricks it can do and how good the sounds can be.

And the beat goes on ....

A support person did contact me after Obi contacted him.  My Hotmail account was hacked a couple of years ago and was sending out spam and apparently IK got some and blocked my address.  Anyway... I'm a huge fan of their products but I've had some really bad support experiences with them in the past.  But this is a new day so I'm being positive about it.
